On name collisions during upload/OS drop, WP Media Directories shows a sequential conflict dialog with compare panes. Replace overwrites bytes for the same attachment ID when mime types match; Copy creates a unique filename and new attachment; Skip ignores that file. Apply to all handles bulk drops.
Why it matters
- Replace requires the same mime type
- Dimension changes OK (thumbnails regenerate)
- Mime mismatch → use Copy or Skip (no silent type swap)
