Fast — update files and attachment metadata only

Rewrite — also update URLs in content (background for large jobs)

Ask to override when moving more than

Default is 10. The override dialog lets editors choose Fast or Rewrite for that move.

Always ask Fast vs Rewrite when moving an entire Folder

Hidden directories

Hidden directories do not appear as Folders in the tree. Date upload paths (YYYY / YYYY/MM) are always excluded.

cache, wpcf7_uploads, woocommerce_uploads, sucuri, backupbuddy_backups, backupbuddy_temp, shortpixelbackups, wp-clone, elementor, revslider, gravity_forms, smush, wpseo-redirects

Additional hidden names

One directory basename per line. These stay out of the Folder tree.

Runs Reconcile in the background via Action Scheduler. Default is off.

Sync now

Import unknown files under the upload basedir and flag attachments whose files are missing.

In Media → Folders, admins choose the default move type, when editors are asked before big moves, which folders are hidden, and when Sync runs. Editors can still run Sync now.
