WP Media Directories

WP Media Directories

Show folders humans care about. Hide plugin clutter.

Cache, form uploads, backup dirs, and marker-hidden trees stay out of the sidebar—without deleting disk contents.

Hidden directories are basedir subdirectories excluded from the Folder tree via built-in denylist, settings overrides, or a hide marker file. Date upload paths are never Folders—they remain Unassigned. Attachments under hidden/date paths still appear in All media / Unassigned.

Why it matters

  • Built-in denylist plus settings overrides
  • Hide marker: .wp-media-directories-hidden
  • Legacy mlpp-hidden markers recognized
  • Disk contents stay intact

How it works

  1. 01Hide from the tree toolbar, or add names in settings
  2. 02Drop a .wp-media-directories-hidden marker in a directory
  3. 03Attachments under hidden paths still appear in All media / Unassigned
